Our Events Team meet on the second Wednesday of each month. At the meetings we discuss ideas for fundraising events, plan and prepare for upcoming events like Jessica's Rainbow Run and Fun Day. We also discuss various ways of raising money for Harry's Rainbow. If you would love to join our amazing team, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
I have started getting involved with Harry's Rainbow in March 2017, as I was looking for a local charity to support but which could accommodate my busy schedule. I love being part of Harry's Rainbow Events Team because we are a close group of people who have a lot of fun whilst supporting a really worthwhile cause. Knowing that what we do (organise and take part in events) helps children who are going through a terrible time in their lives, makes everything all the more gratifying!
I also manage the LinkedIn page for Harry's Rainbow to increase our exposure to businesses (local or otherwise) and their employees.
I've been involved with Harry's Rainbow for several years now helping out at many events. I was approached to join the events team and jumped at the chance. I now have a more active roll within the charity other than being a volunteer and also have an input into the events we put together.
Having ran several events for Harry's Rainbow, including the London marathon and volunteered for other events I decided I'd like to become more involved in the charity so having spoken to Emma and Odette a few times they suggested I joined the events team. It's such a friendly group which get together each month to get ideas on future fundraising events and to get the volunteers needed to run them.
I joined the events team as I saw events advertised and thought 'I could run a stall like that'! For a while I wanted to get involved with a worthwhile charity and after contacting Odette knew that this was the one I wanted to help. I like that i'm not expected to be there at every event but can help in the way that fits in with family life.
I've been involved with the charity since 2013 and have volunteered at many events over the years. I wanted to become more involved in the running and organising of the events that I volunteer for so when a slot became available I put myself forward to become part of the events team and what a pleasure it is to be, and with a great team too!
