Summer Trip for our beneficiaries
In the summer we organised a family event at The Forest Centre in Bedford, with activities provided by On Target Events. The trip was funded by Ingram Micro and we were delighted that Rebecca was able to join us and experience first hand what our families do.
The day consisted of a range of outdoor activities inclusive of archery, axe throwing, team building, bushcraft and rock climbing. The beneficiaries split into family groups to undertake activities within 4 areas and there was an additional area at base for younger children, which included bouncy castles and face painting.
Despite the rain we received some fabulous feedback from the 31 families who attended.
80% agreed that the day helped them with feeling supported, trying new activities, confidence and self esteem and a feeling of belonging.
The trips are provided as an extension of the facilitated support received through the groups and also cater to beneficiaries who are unable to attend the weekday groups for various reasons. They give further opportunities for beneficiaries to meet others that they might not normally speak with and to undertake new activities to help improve self-esteem and confidence.
