2019 Round Up
We’d like to share with you what we accomplished in 2019 with your help, and how we’ve supported bereaved children in the Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. We have seen a rise in registrations of 62% compared to last year and we are supporting more and more children outside of the Milton Keynes area such as Northamptonshire and Leighton Buzzard.
All children receive memory boxes filled with items to help them, such as tissues, a notebook and pencil and a new little addition of a cuddly rainbow bear.
We have granted 34 short breaks at the Rainbow Retreat in Camber Sands (with contributions to food and travel) giving 74 children a break away from home.
Countless bereavement support books have been provided to families and schools.
Over 50 children attend each monthly Rainbow Group with on average 15 teenagers meeting in a separate area, working with an experienced youth group leader.
We provided trips to Gravity, the Forest Centre with all day activities, and a very special Christmas trip to Frosts.
We have funded 22 assessment and bereavement counselling sessions.
We have distributed cinema vouchers, hairdressing vouchers, barbers vouchers and nail vouchers.
And to top off the year we have facilitated the creation collection and delivery of hampers to 27 families.
Thank you for your continued support in 2019. We hope you will join us in 2020 to help us reach more bereaved children in our area.
