GRIEF AWARENESS/RAINBOW WEEK

Grief Awareness Week/Rainbow Week – 18th – 25th November 2021
As usual we will be collaborating with The Childhood Bereavement Network in promoting International Children’s Grief Awareness Day and National Children’s Grief Awareness Week to raise much needed awareness of child bereavement.
Statistics taken in 2015 showed that 100 parents died in Milton Keynes in one year, leaving dependent children bereaving. Nationally, it is estimated that 1 in 29 school children are bereaved of a parent or sibling – that is potentially 1 per school class.
Harry’s Rainbow are dedicated to supporting children bereaved of parents or siblings in the Milton Keynes and surrounding areas and we are committed to raising awareness of the support children need and what is available to them.
It has been an amazing success for the past three years raising over £6000 as well as spreading the awareness of Child Bereavement throughout the community. It is thanks to local businesses, schools and individuals such as Brioche Pasquier, Energie fitness, Mercedes, Portfield School, TheCentre:MK, Mr Simms Sweet Shoppe , DHL and Argos that we have managed to make this week a success.
You have a whole week to get involved and join us in any way that you can. Organisations and schools have baked and sold cakes, asked for donations, dressed up loud and colourful, held fun classes and generally had fun while supporting our brilliant cause!
Would you like to be involved this year? Perhaps you could organise a sponsored event or cake sale or arrange for your colleagues to dress down for a donation.
